Today we had to bring in the 10 'who are you' sentences that we selected to portray different accents. As a group, we then had to move to another groups table and work out which accents their sentences were for, and what characteristics are associated with different accents. We sorted them into piles, wrote on the back of them what we thought they were, then moved back to our original groups.
We then put all of the accents in the correct piles, and discussed as a group which ones we were getting repeatedly wrong or right. The most common mistake was getting the Somerset and Mexican accent mixed up!
