OUGD406 - Speaking From Experience

Brief
Produce a graphic response/graphic product/piece of work that makes a statement, comment, observation or gives advice about your experience on your first year of this course.

Me and Sarah Heal have decided to work together on this project, and thought about making a book with perforated pages inside so that people can stick up the pages on their walls as though they are mini posters. We want to give them advice that you wouldn't necessarily get by asking Google, and can only know from experience.

We thought of different things that we could include:

We have decided that the book will have six sections within, and colour code them to make it easier for the new students to understand, as the information could be quite overwhelming:

1. Map

Map of places that we have mentioned around Leeds.
2. Food

Takeaways; recipes; restaurants; food shopping.
3. Recreation
Club nights (best place, cheap places, calender), cinema on a wednesday, events (film festival, bowling)
4. Travel

Taxis (Apollo/Amber); get a railcard; where not to go at night.
5. House keeping
House hunting; how to load washing machine; how to clean etc.
6. Graphic Design
Remember to blog as soon as possible;  other tips and tricks.

We had to present our ideas to the class and write a brief stating what we are going to produce:

We are now going to research three different sections each to spread out the workload, but will probably help each other on all of the sections.
